ELENOR JEAN

An update and check to see if I am heading in the right direction with colours.  The preparation is taking longer, because of the area to be covered.  I think that Linda White basted her EPP with thread and can only imagine how long that must have taken.  I am using glue and it seems to take forever, I am still really enjoying the journey

  1. Great colors for the borders. It works well with the other colors/prints. I can't wait to see more of it. The first EPP project I did, was thread basted. It felt like it took forever just to prep the pieces so I could stitch. Then I found the glue baste and boy what a difference. Now I glue baste all my EPP pieces.

    1. Kath most of my older EPP were thread basted, they were also a lot bigger pieces. These being 3/8" I can hardly hold them to baste them.....thank goodness for glue...:-)

  2. Your progress is stunning, I wish I had the courage to even start! I have only ever used the glue method, I don't think I would do EPP if I had to thread baste. Keep up the great work!

  3. Gorgeous! The blacks, greys and whites make the colours pop!

I've tried glue and find it is slower than thread basting. I like to baste from the back so the papers just pop out easily and can be reused whereas I can struggle to get the glue basted papers out. Also thread basting is portable so I can take it with me everywhere I go.

    1. Thank you for the comments Karen. I agree with you about thread basting and I did that all the time before I found the glue. It is so much easier to get the papers out when you baste from the back. The trouble now is that when I glue, I get a really sharp edge that I don't seem to get with thread basting. I am happy that I know how to do all three ways and can use whichever when I need to...:-)
