GARDEN OF FORGETFULNESS

Row four has been added, this quilt is going together so quickly.  I have another three rows then a border. There are half rows top and bottom, but I might do it a bit different.



Can you see the problem here, the background blocks are very similar, will I worry, I don't think so!

    Hi Mickie, the pattern is called Garden of Forgetfulness from the second Millefiori book by Willyne Hammerstein. If it helps the hexagon is 3/4" and the same with the diamond shapes. Very easy, I didn't even have to buy templates for it as I had them in my stock. I also have hundreds of paper pieces from other projects in this size as it is my favourite. I hope this all helps...:-)

    I love your colors. Is this a fabric line? If not how did you choose them. Choosing colors is always a challenge for me.

      No Cindyann it's not a range. I just looked at the original pattern and went with similar colours. Although mine has ended up different to the one I am following, that's the beauty of it, put your own stamp on it.
      I was blown away the other day on Facebook the lady who made the quilt, commented on my site saying she thought it was beautiful. I was so excited had to tell someone, so told my husband, he said who else are you going to tell, I said no-one, who else would care, but me!
      I always find when choosing fabric, I just pick what I like and it works. The main thing is you have to enjoy what you are making, if you don't like the material you are using, I don't think you will like what you are making. Sorry that was so long, but I enjoy talking about this subject....:-)

    I don't think those backgrounds are too similar at all - it adds lots of visual interest. Gorgeous and I still love all that fussy cutting!

    Sorry Kate to take such a long time to answer you, I am new to blogging and sometimes I can't find the comments. Thank you for the comment, I don't work on it every day, that also makes me think that it grows very quickly. I have just finished piecing the border on my La Passacaglia quilt, which I am very happy about. And I have also been working on Elenor Jean, which is very slow, because it's so small. It's all good fun and I love the journey...:-)
